Direct Cells Battery Re-cycling Policy

The Environmental Challenge

Lower the impact of our products and services on the environment.

In the UK we dispose of over 1.2 million tonnes of electrical and electronic waste every year. This is the equivalent of 150,000 double decker buses and is enough to fill the new Wembley Stadium 6 times over. Much of the UK’s electronic waste ends up in landfill sites, where toxins could leech out and put communities at risk.

Failure to separate any type of recyclable material in the home will usually result in stuff being disposed of in a landfill site (buried in a hole in the ground in the UK) or being incinerated.

What we are doing

Under the Waste Batteries Regulations, Direct Cells are offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return your waste batteries to our premises in person.

Please do NOT send by post as this creates another impact on the enviroment.

Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at

Additionally, most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set-up collection points. End users may find stores and recycling points in their local area more accessable.
